Surprise!!

So, Daryl Kaufusi was playing in a soccer tournament in Lethbridge and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to make it a great road trip! So, we left Monday morning at about 6:00 and drove to Lethbridge and stayed the night there. The next day Fus, Corbin and I rented a cute lil' car and drove to Calgary. I was in touch with my younger sister Sarah the whole time, coordinating where my mom would be. My mom, Sarah, Jenny and my Grandma were all shopping at Chinook mall and we surprised my mom in the food court. It was hilarious because she couldn't make sense of it at all! It was so funny trying to see her comprehend seeing me, Fus and Corbin all at once. I love surprising people! It's so funny.
We treated them to some REAL chinese food! At Silver Inn! That place is so money and I absolutely love it. They really enjoyed it too! I don't know how you wouldn't though?
The night we got in to Calgary was beautiful! So we went up to the brow and walked around! I love Calgary, it is such a neat city!
Fus captured this picture of me in my glory! I love horses... so much, it's not even funny. I think I would be content living in a barn with them, no joke. My aunt Karyn was nice enough to have us out and play around with her horses, kitties and her little boy Jack. It was another beautiful day and Corb was able to show everyone how much of a cowboy he really is. A natural I tell ya!
Banff is one of my most favorite places on Earth! It is so beautiful in the mountains and I have a lot of great memories there. The weather was pretty crappy! But, I still thought it was cool to show my friends this cool little place that is so gorgeous and so close to home!

I LOVE HOME! It was a really quick trip! I'm already back in Provo... but, it was so fun. I am heading back in just a short 10 days to stay for a little longer and work at the Stampede!

Dad!

Happy Father's Day!

Like Mother's Day, I am missing Father's Day because I am down here in Provo. It's too bad, I really do wish I could be there to celebrate this day with the Rickster!
My dad is the best! And I realize that more and more as I grow up and mature a little bit. My dad is a very, very impressive person and quite possibly one of the most self-disciplined individual I know. I've mentioned this before in some of my posts but, I was a stubborn little 'you-know-what' growing up at home and I know that I really didn't learn what I could have. However, I'm grateful that it isn't too late to learn as much as I can from him. Even though I am far away here at school, I feel his influence everyday and I am incredibly grateful for it because... school is not an easy thing to do on your own.
No matter what the circumstances, my dad has always been my number 1 fan. This past few weeks, I've been able to coach little kids. It's been an absolute blast! But, after watching how uncoordinated all of them were... I honestly couldn't remember being that uncoordinated and lacking that much skill. I realized... at points, I really was that bad and my dad was there to watch it all. I guess with all the airballs, traveling, double dribbles, shooting on the wrong basket... my dad saw beyond that and was there for everything. Every try out, every game, every tournament. I am pretty lucky to have someone like that!
All in all... my dad is the best dad out there! I'm sorry I can't be home to celebrate it with you! I hope my darling sisters treat ya' how you deserve on this day!

 I love you Dad.

SuMmEr

I am having a blast down in Provo right now! Going on runs in the morning, going to classes (which are a week away from being over, YES!), riding bikes, laying out in the sun, carnivals, concerts, shaved ice, movies, bbq's, playing pick up, horseback riding, beach volleyball, sky diving..... okay, I haven't gone sky diving, but I really feel like I'm having THAT much fun.
That being said, I am really looking forward to seeing my family during Stampede week. I got a great job at the Stampede this year and I am excited to be home for that. I was home in April but it was such a quick visit so, I am really excited to go home and truly enjoy it.

My CUTE new runners. I love them so, so much! I have honestly been looking to buy some cute nike runners for a really long time but they are so bloody expensive. However, Finish Line was having a sale and they were HALF off! I was so excited! I really love em'.
It was "Summer Fest" up in Orem this weekend. It was just like a little carnival with fun food, fun shops and fun rides! I went with Mindy, Morgan and Kim and we had an awesome time. The rides were great.. but, we all decided that the best part was 'people watching'. I don't know what it is about carnivals but they attract quite the array of... creatures. We saw countless mullets, questionable wardrobe choices and children on leashes.
You know what is the scariest ride ever? The Ferris Wheel. I hated it so much! You're dangling up in the air in this little seat that rocks back and forth. There really isn't a lot that's holding you in either. It is the worst! I am not a big fan of heights and Kim thought it was funny to move as much as possible in the stupid seat. I had heart burn from the anxiety after the ride was finished...
Morgan and I went a second night also. We had left over tickets from the night before so we went and used em' and then watched the fireworks (which were great!!). This one ride that we went on, not quite sure how to describe it but... this is the only way I can think of. You know when you have a bucket of water? And you keep your arm straight and swing the bucket upside down and none of the water ever comes out? Well.. in this ride, Morgan and I were in the bucket. I wanted to laugh but we were going so fast and the pressure of the g-forces were just too strong for anything to come out. I don't even know if it was a ride or something that they took from NASA where they train the astronauts. It was insane and we both decided that we did not like that ride AT ALL.

Good Week Indeed

This week was a good one for so many reasons. I'm just gonna' go ahead and list them all...

1. It was my BIRTHDAY this week and I am now 20 years old!
Yummy cake!
Fus got me a bunch of little toy horses. For those that know me well... I was ecstatic to receive such a wonderful gift. Thanks girl!!! I had a great day! Woke up.. got a good work out in, worked camps with the cute children, had some glorious food at the Kaufusi's and enjoyed watching some good Wipe Out Episodes with Braden. It was a good day! Exactly how I wanted it to be.

2. FUS GOT GOOD NEWS!!!
Love this girl!! On my birthday, Fus was getting her results on her progress. We were all, obviously, hoping to hear great things. I was working all day and right before popsicle break, I checked my phone and got a WONDERFUL text from Fus. She is in COMPLETE RESPONSE!! This is awesome because, at this time, all of her cancer cells are not active! So happy for her... strongest girl I know!!!

3. SUMMER is practically here..
The weather has been absolutely fantastic these last couple days. I absolutely love the sunshine! It's been great to ride my cute little bike around... it saves on gas and I'm getting exercise.. Especially on this bike. In Provo, we are pretty much in the mountains so it feels like everywhere you ride there is a hill... this puppy only has one gear, so hills are killers. I love it though!! Kim and I have been indulging in the shaved ice shack that lives a block away from our house! So good!!

4. Concert with my pal Marc
My friend, Marc Steele, was kind enough to take me to a concert up in Salt Lake the other night. Iron and Wine was playing and he got some tickets! We were having a lot of fun and the music was great but my back was getting really sore from standing for so long. So, we went and found this bench. In this picture.. do you see the yellow tape? Yeah, well that is indicating that there is a step there. Marc and I sat there for about 45 minutes... and within that 45 minutes... 12 people tripped over it! 12!!! People were NOT paying attention and tripped over it so hard. Some laughed it off, some tried to play it cool and some stood no chance and literally fell on their faces. Call me a terrible person... but I have NOT laughed that hard in a really long time. I was in tears.. it was the highlight of my night! I should have been warning them but instead I was just hoping that they wouldn't see it and that they would trip over it and provide more entertainment for me. The music was great, it really was. But... the trips and falls by far was my favorite part of the evening.

I am having a great time and lovin' life down here! Hopefully this next week will be as great as the last!!!
